The Wine Front - 93 points Campbell Mattinson
The Great Australian Shiraz Challenge - 91 points (Silver)
The fruit for this Shiraz comes mostly from our 19 year old unirrigated Jackson's Lane vineyard, South Heathcote, where the fruit is always powerful and masculine in style. The balance comes from the left over portion of the old original 1971 block vines. The wine is made with 25% whole bunch fermentation and is matured for 2 years in 25% new French oak prior to bottling, in March 2019. The wine has concentrated fruit intensity with a soft but firm tannin finish. It will continue to soften and gain complexity over a 5-15 years.
