Degree Shiraz 2013

Our Degree Shiraz is an aromatic fruit forward wine, with soft tannins and a smooth finish. With the 2013 vintage containing mostly Shiraz, and just a drop of Mourvèdre and Riesling. The Mourvèdre softens the Shiraz tannins and the co-fermented Riesling helps lift the aromatics. This unique blend was first made in 2002 from our "Young Vine" block, planted in 1999. The combination has worked so well over the years, and while the % of each variety varies, the blend has never changed. The wine was matured for 18 months in 3-8 year old French oak barriques prior bottling in March, without finning or filtration.
